OTHER FINISHES:

Copper Plating:
Copper plating is used primarily for its high plating efficiency as an undercoat for other metals, primarily bright nickel. Copper will cover small defects, such as pits and polishing lines. It can also be plated to heavier thicknesses and then buffed to remove and cover other defects prior to nickel/chrome plating. For these reasons, copper plating is used for plating die cast parts (aluminum or zinc) for highly cosmetic applications, such as automotive and motorcycle parts.

Brass Plating:
Decorative brass is plated over bright nickel where a reflective gold-colored finish is desired. Since brass can tarnish easily over time, a water-based lacquer is applied after plating. In cases where more protection is needed, a spray-on lacquer may be used. . It is used for all types of decorative parts in the furniture, plumbing, lighting and home hardware industries.

Tin Plating:
Bright tin is usually plated over bright nickel or electroless nickel where a reflective finish with good solderability and electrical conductivity is desired. Tin provides good corrosion protection and can be applied over virtually any metal substrate. It is used for many types of parts in the electronics, computer and home appliance industries.
