National Metal Finishing has achieved a long-standing tradition of quality and excellence working with such companies as Harley Davidson, General Electric, and ITT. The company was ISO 9001 certified in January, 2000, and was recently re-certified to ISO 9001 : 2000. National takes pride in its many continuous improvement and related quality programs.

Our quality lab has a variety of test equipment to check critical attributes of plated products. X-Ray Fluorescence equipment is used for rapid non-destructive thickness testing, while Kocour® testers are used for destructive tests. Salt spray equipment is also available for testing corrosion properties. Plating adhesion is checked by several methods: saw cut, cut & tape pull, and bake & water quench.

National also has a complete chemistry lab to check chemical composition of plating tanks. These results are continually monitored and charted. Outside labs are also used to check for chemical impurities which require specialized equipment. Adjustments are made constantly to stay within desired operating limits. Baths are replaced as needed to insure product quality. This laboratory is also used to examine the plant’s wastewater effluent.
